If you have been contemplating lip enhancement but have been nervous to try something painful and permanent, needle free lip filler is a great place to start! If you would like to perfect your pout, plump your pucker or are concerned about fine lines appearing around your mouth, this needle free Hyaluronic Acid “injection” will add volume and causes minimal to no pain, bruising or swelling!
How do needle free lip fillers work?
Hyaluronic Acid filler is inserted into the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, and is the most hydrating substance available. HA draws water into the space in which it is inserted, hydrating and plumping the area. HA can actually absorb up to 1,000 times its weight in water! This won’t happen in your lips though, because, well, science.
The system of delivery converts the Hyaluron gel into nanoscale molecules, which allows for painless delivery through the skin without the use of needles by using an air pressure driven tool to push in the filler and plump the desired area.
The filler does not penetrate as deeply as when injected with a needle, so may not last as long, but this style of injection allows the filler to spread more evenly and allows for a more natural appearance, and carries less risk of complications than needle injections. Some of the filler that is placed into the desired areas will likely be metabolized, and for that reason a second appointment is scheduled approximately a week later to touch up as needed. For clients looking to build more volume, weekly enhancements may be scheduled until the desired fullness is reached.
Where Else can the Filler be used?
Hyaluronic Acid needle free fillers can be used to create volume, shape and lift in the lips, forehead wrinkles, nasolabial lines, marionette lines, and the 11 lines between the eyebrows.
What to know before booking your appointment
Please avoid Aspirin, Advil, Motrin or Aleve for one week prior to your appointment. Arrive hydrated to your appointment and be prepared to drink water throughout the day. Avoid caffeine and alcoholic beverages in the days before the treatment. Bruising is unlikely, but may be treated with Arnica if taken before or can be used after the treatment. Ice may be used the first day if needed. Some degree of metabolism of the filler is to be expected. Subsequent appointments may be needed to reach the desired volume. Results typically last 3-6 months or more. Results may vary based on your aftercare, general health and metabolism.
